Cody Mountain
Cody Mountain, born in Cape Town, South Africa, is the son of Welsh entrepreneur John Mountain and former Miss South Africa, Michelle Mountain (née Bruce). Growing up in a family infused with a love for the arts, Cody's path to acting seemed almost inevitable, especially with both his mother and sister, Romy Mountain, actively involved in the industry.
Cody's passion for acting emerged during his primary school years, where he took on leading roles in various productions. He later attended a prestigious private school in South West England, where he honed his academic and athletic skills. Although he initially pursued Aerospace Engineering after completing his A-Levels, his heart was not in the technical field. Instead, he excelled in the arts, participating in both the LAFTAs and the National Shakespeare Schools Festival. Upon returning to South Africa, he dedicated three years to professional training at ACT Cape Town, while also achieving a LAMDA PCertLam Level 3 Diploma with Distinction.
During his studies, Cody co-founded the Coffee Breaks improv troupe, performing regularly at the Armchair Theatre from 2016 to 2018. His first major stage role came as Kevin in "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun," a production by acclaimed writer Nicola Hanekom, which captivated audiences at the Galloway Theatre and was featured at the US Woordfees and Cape Town Fringe Festival.
Cody's film credits include "Ons Albertinia" (2018), "Cut-Out Girls" (2018), which received accolades at the Cape Town International Film Festival, and "Far From the Castle" (2018), which won Best Screenplay at the LA Film Awards. He is set to star in an upcoming TV drama scheduled for release in 2019.
