Jaye Davidson
Jaye Davidson, originally named Alfred Amey, was born on March 21, 1968, in Riverside, California. At the age of two and a half, he relocated with his family to the United Kingdom, where he grew up in Hertfordshire. Renowned as a former actor and model, Davidson gained prominence for his groundbreaking portrayal of the character "Dil" in the critically acclaimed 1992 film The Crying Game. This role not only showcased his remarkable talent but also earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor in a Supporting Role, making him the first Black British actor to achieve this accolade.
In addition to his iconic role in The Crying Game, Davidson further solidified his status in the film industry with his performance as Ra in the 1994 sci-fi blockbuster Stargate. His unique contributions to cinema, particularly in terms of representation and diversity, have left a lasting impact.
