Kevin Hagen
Kevin Hagen (April 3, 1928 – July 9, 2005) was a prominent American actor, best remembered for his portrayal of Dr. Hiram Baker on the beloved NBC series *Little House on the Prairie*.
Born to professional ballroom dancers Haakon Olaf Hagen and Marvel Lucile Wadsworth, Kevin faced early challenges when his father left the family when he was just five years old. Raised primarily by his mother, grandmother, and two aunts, he also received guidance from his uncle, a physician. The family relocated to Portland, Oregon, during Kevin's teenage years, where he excelled in sports, particularly baseball and football, at Jefferson High School. Following his time at Oregon State University, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served in San Diego after World War II.
Throughout his personal life, Hagen experienced four marriages and dedicated two decades to single parenthood, raising his son, Christopher Hagen, who became a Special Education teacher and high school baseball coach in Bakersfield, California.
In his acting career, Hagen's work extended beyond *Little House on the Prairie*, showcasing his versatility in various roles across television and film. His contributions to the entertainment industry have left a lasting impact, and he is fondly remembered by fans and colleagues alike for his heartfelt performances.
