He was closely linked with The Drama Club in Prague and is best remembered for his final cinematic appearance in "Faust," a film directed by the renowned surrealist Jan Švankmajer. His theatrical journey began at Ostrava's DPB, which he left in 1965 to join the Činoherní Klub in Prague.

At the Činoherní Klub, Čepek played a crucial role in bringing classic works to life, including adaptations of Dostoevsky's "Crime and Punishment" and Gogol's "Revizor" (The Government Inspector), solidifying his reputation as a versatile performer. In the late 1980s, he stepped into the political arena, engaging in rallies and negotiations during a pivotal time in Czechoslovakia's history. Afterward, he returned to DAMU, where he inspired future generations of actors until his untimely passing in 1994.

In recognition of his artistic contributions, Čepek was posthumously honored for his impressive dual role in Švankmajer's "Faust," cementing his legacy within Czech cinema and theater. His work continues to resonate within the cultural landscape of the Czech Republic.
