She earned her degree in Psychology and Theatre from Webster University, which set the stage for her successful career in entertainment. After winning a national talent search, Pratt moved to Hollywood under a contract with NBC, where she began writing songs and contributing to various music albums while simultaneously embarking on her acting journey.

Pratt gained recognition for her significant contributions to television, most notably as co-creator, executive producer, and head writer of the beloved NBC series "Quantum Leap."
