Anette Støvelbæk was raised on Amager, born to a social worker and a speech therapist. After spending a year at the Jester's School and participating in various acting workshops, she pursued formal training at the Actors' School at Odense Theatre, graduating in 1997.

Anette gained recognition for her role as the bumbling baker Olympia in Lone Scherfig's 2000 Dogme comedy, Italian for Beginners, where she showcased her distinctive charm. However, her range extends far beyond comedy. She first captivated audiences with her unique presence as a mourning mother in the TV series Strisser på Samsø, which aired from 1997 to 1998.
