José María Yázpik
José María Yázpik, born on November 13, 1970, in Mexico City, is a prominent Mexican actor recognized for his extensive work in film and television. He hails from an affluent background; his father, Dr. José María Meza, is a well-known gynecologist, and his mother is Cristina Yazpik.
Yázpik's foray into acting began with an opportunity provided by a family friend who produced the television movie *The Brute with the Angel of Death*. He subsequently enrolled at the Centro de Educación Artística (CEA) of Televisa, where he honed his craft alongside future stars such as Arath de la Torre, Fabián Corres, and Eduardo Rill. Despite his initial reluctance to take on minor roles in Televisa's youth soap operas, an exclusive contract compelled him to comply, even facing a two-month pay suspension for refusing roles.
His breakthrough came in 1995 with a significant part in the soap opera *La Paloma*, produced by José Rendón, although production was tragically halted following the death of lead actor Gerardo Hemmer. The following year, he starred in *Canción de Amor*, produced by Luis de Llano Macedo, and made his film debut in *Última Llamada*, directed by Carlos García Agraz. By 1997, Yázpik's career gained momentum as he began to attract attention in the industry, particularly through his portrayals of antagonists in hit telenovelas like *Pueblo Chico, Infierno Grande* and *Ángela*, both produced by José Alberto Castro.
