Michael Petrovitch
Michael Edward Petrovitch, born in 1945 in Chelsea, London, was a multifaceted talent known primarily for his work in film and music. He gained recognition as an actor with notable appearances in "Spy Story" (1976), "Turkey Shoot" (1982), and the television series "The Zoo Gang" (1974). His artistic journey also extended beyond acting; he studied cello at the esteemed Royal Academy of Music, blending his musical prowess with his theatrical endeavors.
Under the moniker Miko, Petrovitch released a single that garnered a dedicated following, showcasing his unique blend of vocals and cello. His management during this period was handled by Mike Margolis, who was also known for managing the singer Anita Harris, later Margolis’s wife.
Petrovitch received his early education at Harrow School, where he was contemporaries with the renowned singer-songwriter Mike d'Abo, known for his work with A Band of Angels and Manfred Mann. He later honed his acting skills at The Central School of Speech and Drama in London.
He was the son of Eileen W. Hunter and Dr. Milorad Petrovich, who married in 1941. Milorad passed away in Surrey in 1977, while Eileen lived until March 2000. Michael Petrovitch's life came to an end on March 28, 1999, in Spain, but his contributions to the arts continue to be remembered.
