Bridgette Andersen
Bridgette Andersen, born Marriah Bridget Andersen on April 11, 1976, in Inglewood, California, was the daughter of Frank Glass and Teresa Andersen. She grew up in the coastal community of Malibu, where her prodigious talent became evident early on. By the age of two, she had set her sights on a career in acting, transitioning from child modeling to the screen at just seven years old with her debut in the 1982 TV movie, *Washington Mistress*.
Andersen's breakout role came later that year when she starred as the titular character in the beloved family film *Savannah Smiles*. This performance earned her a nomination for a Young Artist Award, further solidifying her status in the industry. She showcased her versatility through guest appearances in popular television series such as *Family Ties*, *Remington Steele*, and even portrayed a young Mae West in a biopic. In 1983, she took on the role of Celia in the sitcom *Gun Shy*, receiving a second Young Artist Award nomination for her performance.
Throughout the mid-1980s, Andersen continued to build her filmography with notable projects, including *A Summer to Remember*, *The Parent Trap II*, and appearances on *The Golden Girls*. However, by 1987, her acting opportunities dwindled, culminating in a brief appearance in a Pepsi commercial during Super Bowl XXX.
Tragically, Andersen battled substance abuse issues in her teenage years and struggled to maintain a connection with her family. On May 18, 1997, she succumbed to an accidental overdose at the young age of 21. Her funeral took place a week later at Malibu United Methodist Church, and she was laid to rest with her ashes scattered at Zuma Beach.
