Luisa Huertas, a prominent actress of Salvadoran and Mexican descent, was born on June 24, 1951, in San Salvador, El Salvador. She hails from a diverse background, with a Spanish refugee father and a Mexican businesswoman mother. Huertas honed her craft at two prestigious institutions: the Escuela de Arte Teatral del INBA and the Centro Universitario de Teatro (CUT-UNAM).

Her career took off in the 1970s, where she made notable appearances in films and became widely recognized for her role as Rosita on the beloved children's program, Sesame Street. Huertas subsequently established herself as a leading figure in Mexican television, starring in acclaimed telenovelas such as Dulce Desafío (1988-1989), Carrusel (1989), Al filo de la muerte (1991), and Volver a empezar (1994).

An influential member of the arts community, she co-founded the Mexican Academy of Theatrical Art and has served on the Advisory Board at CUT-UNAM. Additionally, she has been a committed member of the National Theater Company. In recent years, Huertas has showcased her talent in series like La casa de las flores (2020) and Todo por nada (2021), as well as films such as Dos mujeres y una Vaca (2015) and Cosas imposibles (2021).

Her contributions to theater have been recognized with several accolades, including the Asociación de Periodistas de Teatro award and the Metro award for best actress for her performance in El diccionario.
