Georgi Staykov

Georgi Staykov, born on August 10, 1964, in the historic town of Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria, is a distinguished actor recognized for his dynamic roles in both Swedish and Bulgarian cinema. After graduating from the Bulgarian Acting Academy in 1989, where he honed his craft under the guidance of Encho Halachev, Staykov relocated to Sweden, where he frequently embodies Eastern European characters, often taking on villainous roles. He humorously notes that many of these characters are "the bad guys who ultimately meet their demise."

One of his most notable achievements is his portrayal of Alexander Zalachenko, a former Soviet intelligence officer, in the acclaimed Swedish film trilogy "Millennium," adapted from Stieg Larsson's best-selling novels. In his home country, Staykov has garnered recognition for his performances in films such as "Vchera" (Yesterday), "Bez draskotina" (No Scratch), "Reservat" (Reservate), "Missia London" (Mission London), and "Tilt." Additionally, he has recently appeared in the television series "Sedem Chasa Razlika" (In Seven Hours).

Currently, Staykov resides in Stockholm, Sweden, where he balances his acting career with teaching.
