Betsy Jones-Moreland
Betsy Jones-Moreland (April 1, 1930 – May 1, 2006) was a prominent American actress known for her contributions to both film and television. Born Mary Elizabeth Jones in Brooklyn, New York, she launched her acting career in the mid-1950s, making a mark in several films directed by Roger Corman. One of her notable performances was in the leading role of "Last Woman on Earth" (1960), which showcased her talent to a wider audience.
Throughout the 1960s and into the 1970s, Jones-Moreland transitioned primarily to television, where she became a familiar face on several popular series. She made guest appearances on shows such as "Ironside," where she starred alongside Raymond Burr. In the early 1990s, she returned to work with Burr, taking on a recurring role as a judge in the acclaimed "Perry Mason" television movies. Additionally, she portrayed "Topaz," a saloon hostess, in the "Have Gun – Will Travel" episode titled "Brother's Keeper," which aired on May 6, 1961.
Jones-Moreland's career spanned over two decades, earning her recognition and respect in the entertainment industry. She passed away in El Monte, California, at the age of 76, after a battle with cancer, leaving behind a legacy of memorable performances.
