George Murdoch
George Murdoch, widely recognized by his ring name Tyrus, is an accomplished American professional wrestler, cable news commentator, actor, and author. Currently affiliated with the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), he holds the title of NWA World Television Champion. Murdoch's wrestling career includes notable stints in WWE, where he was known as Brodus Clay, and in Impact Wrestling, where he also performed under the name Tyrus.
His wrestling journey began after training in WWE's developmental territories, including Deep South Wrestling and Florida Championship Wrestling. Murdoch made his WWE debut on the fourth season of NXT, where rookies were mentored by established wrestlers. He first appeared on the main roster as the bodyguard for Alberto Del Rio. In 2012, WWE revamped his character into The Funkasaurus, a lively funk dancer managed by the duo Naomi and Cameron, known as the Funkydactyls. He enjoyed a successful run, engaging in various storylines until his exit in 2014, during which he had an undefeated streak alongside Lord Tensai before turning heel.
From 2014 to 2017, Murdoch showcased his talents in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. In 2021, he joined the NWA, where he captured the NWA World Television Championship. Beyond wrestling, Tyrus has gained recognition as a cable news personality on Fox News Channel and its streaming platform Fox Nation, co-hosting the late-night show Gutfeld! He is also the author of the memoir Just Tyrus, published in 2022, which quickly ascended to the New York Times bestseller list.
