Rustem Zhaniyamanov
Rustem Zhaniyamanov, a prominent figure in the Kazakh arts scene, graduated from the College of the Kazakh National Academy of Arts named after T. Zhurgenov in 2007. He further honed his craft by completing his studies in directing at the same institution in 2012, under the mentorship of the esteemed Kazakh artist Bulat Atabayev. His directorial debut came with Dario Fo's *The Open Couple* at the Zhambyl Regional Kazakh Drama Theater named after Zh. Dosmukhamedov, which garnered significant acclaim from critics upon its release.
Zhaniyamanov continued to innovate in the theatrical realm, directing productions such as *The Foal and the Wolf Cub* by Zh. Omarov and *The Smell of Wormwood* by R. Otarbayev at the State Puppet Theater in 2017, showcasing his unique vision in puppet theater.
Beyond theater, Zhaniyamanov has made a mark in film with notable works including *The Walnut Tree* (2016), *Kelinjan* (2019), *Serzhan Bratan* (2021), and the comedy *Sweetie, You Won't Believe It!* (2019). His diverse contributions to both stage and screen highlight his versatility and creativity as a director, solidifying his reputation as a key player in Kazakhstan's cultural landscape.
