Janus Blythe, an enchanting and charismatic brunette, left an indelible mark on the horror genre and exploitation films of the 1970s. She embarked on her acting journey in the mid-1970s, landing small but notable roles, including a roommate in the cult classic *The Centerfold Girls* (1974) and a groupie in Brian De Palma's surreal musical *Phantom of the Paradise* (1974).

Blythe gained significant cult acclaim for her role as Ruby, the defiant teenage daughter of a cannibalistic family, in Wes Craven's iconic horror film *The Hills Have Eyes* (1977). Originally considered for the character Lynn, Blythe advocated for the chance to audition for Ruby, a decision that would define her career. She later reprised this role in the sequel, *The Hills Have Eyes Part II* (1984).

Her filmography also includes memorable performances as a small-town tramp in Tobe Hooper's *Eaten Alive* (1976) and a victim in the thrilling *The Incredible Melting Man* (1977). Blythe's last credited role was in the action film *Soldier's Fortune* (1991).

Beyond her acting career, she featured in the documentary *Invasion of the Scream Queens* (1992) and reflected on her legacy in the retrospective DVD *Looking Back at 'The Hills Have Eyes'* (2003). Janus Blythe also hosts a talk show on a public access television channel in Los Angeles, further showcasing her vibrant personality.
