Tony Lou Chun-Ku, originally named Wang Chun-Yeung, was born in December 1946 in Fujian, China. He moved to Hong Kong in 1962, where he pursued a career in acting. In 1970, he enrolled in Cathay's actor training program, adopting the stage name Lu Chun during this time. Following the closure of Cathay, Lou transitioned to Yangtze Film Company, making his acting debut in the film "My Millionaire Sister." He soon landed his first leading role in the action-packed "Armour of God," showcasing his talent and charisma.

In 1974, Lou shifted his focus from acting to the film industry's behind-the-scenes work. By 1979, he rebranded himself as Lu Chun-Ku and joined the renowned Shaw Brothers Studio as a director. His directing career flourished as he helmed a series of martial arts films, gaining recognition for his creative storytelling and dynamic choreography. In addition to directing, he occasionally took on acting roles, further solidifying his presence in the Hong Kong film scene.

Lou's contributions to martial arts cinema have left a lasting impact, as seen in the critically acclaimed "Return of the Bastard Swordsman," released in a special Celestial DVD edition.
