Vincent Macaigne, born on October 19, 1978, is a multifaceted French talent known for his work as an actor, theatre director, film director, screenwriter, and playwright. Growing up in Paris, he is the son of a French businessman and an Iranian painter, and has an older brother who works as a forensic doctor. His performance in La Fille du 14 juillet earned him nominations for both the César and Lumières Awards for Most Promising Actor in 2014.
Macaigne made his feature film directorial debut with Dom Juan, an adaptation of Molière’s classic, which was showcased in the Cineasts of the Present section at the 2015 Locarno International Film Festival. His diverse talents continue to leave a significant mark on French cinema and theatre.
