Ryan Hansen

Ryan Hansen, born on July 5, 1981, is an American actor of European descent, renowned for his role as Dick Casablancas in the cult series Veronica Mars and for his portrayal of Nolan in Friday the 13th. He also gained recognition as Kyle in the Starz series Party Down. Originally from Fountain Valley, California, and later raised in El Cajon, Hansen currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife, Amy.

Hansen embarked on his acting career with guest appearances in various television shows, including Grounded for Life, That's So Raven, and Las Vegas. In 2004, he auditioned for the character of Duncan Kane on Veronica Mars but was ultimately cast as Dick Casablancas after being encouraged by creator Rob Thomas. Recently, he is set to join the fourth season of the acclaimed political drama House of Cards, taking on the role of Ted Warner.

In addition to his acting pursuits, Hansen is actively involved with the charity Invisible Children and participated in the online series The LXD, where half of the profits support this cause. In 2008, he featured in the film Superhero Movie, released on March 28, and also appeared in the original musical Alice, which ran in San Diego from July 31 to August 10. Furthermore, he is slated to be a series regular on the upcoming NBC sitcom Friends with Benefits during the 2010-11 television season. Interestingly, Hansen and his wife were once roommates with actress Kristen Bell in her Hollywood Hills home.
