Kat Coiro

Kat Coiro is an accomplished film director, producer, and screenwriter with a diverse body of work in both television and film. She is best known for her role in directing the pilot episodes of popular series such as *Girls5Eva*, *Florida Girls*, and *She-Hulk: Attorney at Law*, for which she also served as an executive producer for most episodes. In 2022, Coiro directed the romantic comedy *Marry Me*, which was released by Universal Pictures.

Before making her mark as a pilot and feature film director, Coiro honed her skills on various well-regarded television shows, including *Dead to Me*, *Modern Family*, *Shameless*, and *It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia*. Her filmmaking journey began with micro-budget independent projects, one of which, *And While We Were Here*, gained recognition at festivals. Notably, she shot this film in Italy over just 11 days while pregnant, further showcasing her determination and creativity.

Coiro's educational background includes training in theater at the prestigious Moscow Arts Theater in Russia, studying at Carnegie Mellon University, and participating in an MFA fellowship at the American Film Institute. Originally from New York, she spent time in Miami and attended boarding school at Interlochen Arts Academy, where she now runs a summer program. Kat Coiro is married to Rhys Coiro, and together they have three children.
