Gerard McCarthy is a talented actor hailing from Belfast, Northern Ireland. He received his early education at St. Mary's Christian Brothers' Grammar School. In a significant personal revelation, McCarthy came out as non-binary in 2022, embracing a broader understanding of identity.

In 2002, he graduated from Laine Theatre Arts after being awarded the prestigious Sir Kenneth Branagh Renaissance Scholarship, which set the stage for his acting career. McCarthy is perhaps best known for his role as Kevin McSwain in the critically acclaimed BBC 2 drama The Fall, which starred Gillian Anderson and received a BAFTA nomination.
