Kasino
Kasino, born in Gombong, Central Java, is a prominent figure in Indonesian comedy, often referred to as an "intellectual comedian." He began his journey alongside friends on the Warung Kopi chat show, which aired on Prambors radio. The original lineup included Kasino, Rudy, Badil, Nanu, and programmer Tommy Lesanpura. After some changes, Dono replaced Tommy, and Indro took over Badil's spot after his departure.
The group initially appeared under the name Warkop Prambors on the TVRI program Terminal of Youth, gaining widespread recognition with their film "Mana Tahaaan" in 1979. As competition arose from a new comedy group called Sersan (Serious But Relaxed) Prambors, Kasino and his colleagues decided to rebrand themselves as Warkop DKI, featuring Dono, Kasino, and Indro.
Warkop DKI became a household name, known for their unique blend of slapstick humor and attractive actresses in their films. This successful formula transitioned seamlessly into the television series titled "Warkop DKI," which debuted in 1995 during a period when the national film industry was struggling. Kasino's contributions to Indonesian entertainment have left a lasting legacy, influencing generations of comedians and captivating audiences with his wit and charm.
