Montserrat Figueras i García was a renowned soprano and a prominent figure in the interpretation of a wide-ranging vocal repertoire spanning the Medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque eras. Born in Barcelona to a family passionate about music, she honed her craft under the tutelage of Jordi Albareda, later furthering her studies at the Schola Cantorum Basilensis and the Musikakademie in Basel, Switzerland. Figueras began her performance career at a young age, collaborating with Enric Gispert and the medieval music group Ars Musicae.

In 1966, she delved into early vocal techniques, exploring music from the troubadours to the Baroque period.
