Sam Raimi
Samuel M. Raimi, born on October 23, 1959, is a prominent American director and filmmaker celebrated for his influential contributions to the horror and superhero genres. He gained widespread recognition for helming the original trilogy of the Evil Dead franchise, which began in 1981 and continues to resonate with audiences. Additionally, Raimi directed the acclaimed Spider-Man trilogy from 2002 to 2007, further solidifying his status in Hollywood.
His diverse filmography includes notable works such as the superhero thriller Darkman (1990), the revisionist western The Quick and the Dead (1995), and the neo-noir crime drama A Simple Plan (1998). He also explored supernatural themes with films like The Gift (2000), Drag Me to Hell (2009), and the Disney fantasy Oz the Great and Powerful (2013). More recently, he directed the Marvel Cinematic Universe installment Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, released in 2022.
