John Forde Cazabon (3 August 1914 – 22 June 1983) was a distinguished English actor and playwright, whose artistic journey commenced in Sydney, Australia. Born in Hertford, Hertfordshire, to Albert Cazabon, a talented violinist and composer, and Norah Cazabon (née Delaney), a professional actress originally from Australia, John was immersed in the world of performing arts from an early age. He was raised alongside his older sister, Norah, and younger brother, Robert Brendan Cazabon, who tragically lost his life in action in 1941.

In 1927, the Cazabon family relocated to Sydney, where Albert took the position of musical director for the orchestra at the Prince Edward Theatre. By 1933, John and his sister were active participants in Sydney's Impressionist Theatre. The following year, they joined their mother in the Independent Theatre and the Pickwick Theatre Group, both overseen by Doris Fitton. They later became part of Beryl Bryant's theatrical ensemble.

In 1936, Albert returned to London, where he began working for the BBC, while John chose to remain behind in Australia. During this time, he secretly wed actress Margery Gielis from Toowoomba. The couple welcomed a son, Charles, who later married Margaret Burns on 20 May 1967. John's sister Norah married Stephen Merivale, a relative of the renowned actor Philip Merivale, further intertwining the family within the theatrical community.
