Sujan Mukherjee
Sujan Mukhopadhyay, also known in the artistic community as Neel Mukherjee, was born on July 22, 1974. He is a prominent Indian actor recognized for his contributions to Bengali cinema, television, and theater. Mukherjee embarked on his journey as a director in 2012 with the film *Ghete Gho*, showcasing his multifaceted talent in the performing arts.
A dedicated member of the esteemed Chetana Theatre Group, Mukherjee expanded his directorial repertoire in the theater realm by premiering *Ghashiram Kotwal* on February 22, 2016. This production is an adaptation of a classic Marathi play, reflecting his ability to bridge various cultural narratives through performance. In 2018, he took on the direction of *Don: Taake Bhalo Laage*, a Bengali rendition of Dale Wasserman’s *Don Quixote*, which was previously translated into Bengali by Arun Mukhopadhyay. This play is notable not only for its creative adaptation but also for marking the return of Suman Mukhopadhyay to the stage after a 25-year hiatus.
