John Phillip Stamos, born on August 19, 1963, is a multifaceted American actor and musician whose career has spanned several decades. Stamos first captured the public's attention with his portrayal of Blackie Parrish on the popular ABC soap opera, General Hospital. His performance earned him a Daytime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series at the 10th Daytime Emmy Awards in 1983.

However, it was his iconic role as Jesse Katsopolis on the beloved sitcom Full House that solidified his status as a household name. After the series concluded in 1995, Stamos continued to make his mark on television, notably playing Dr. Tony Gates in the NBC medical drama ER from 2005 to 2009. His talents also extend to the stage; he has performed in Broadway productions such as How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and Cabaret. From October 2009 to January 2010, he starred as Albert Peterson in the revival of Bye Bye Birdie, and later took on the role of Senator Joseph Cantwell in Gore Vidal's The Best Man from July to September 2012.

In addition to acting, Stamos served as an executive producer for the Netflix series Fuller House, where he reprised his role as Jesse. His film credits include appearances in Never Too Young to Die (1986) and Born to Ride (1991), as well as a role as Dr. Nicky in the psychological thriller You, available on Lifetime and Netflix.
