Laurice Guillen
Laurice Guillen, born on January 31, 1947, is a distinguished Filipino actress and director renowned for her contributions to both theater and film. Her academic journey began at St. Theresa's College in Cebu City, later advancing to a Master's degree in Mass Communication from Ateneo de Manila University. In 1967, she further honed her skills in television production under the mentorship of Nestor Torre.
Guillen launched her acting career with performances in theatrical productions, including George Bernard Shaw's *Mrs. Warren's Profession*. She made a significant impact in the film industry with her portrayal of a seductress in *Tinimbang Ka Ngunit Kulang* and as Corazon Aquino in the acclaimed television drama *A Dangerous Life*. In 2009, she ventured into independent cinema with her role in *Karera*, showcasing her versatility.
Her directorial journey began under the influence of the legendary Lino Brocka. Guillen's directorial debut was with *Init sa Magdamag*, followed by the critically acclaimed *Salome*, which gained recognition at the Toronto International Film Festival.
