Madaleine Sorkin

Madaleine Sorkin has been a prominent figure in the climbing community since she first took to the rocks in 1998 and began guiding in 2002. Renowned for her expertise in big wall free climbing, she has successfully ascended challenging routes, achieving grades of up to 5.13+ over 35-pitch climbs on iconic formations like El Capitan in Yosemite, California, and the Diamond of Longs Peak in Colorado.

Her impressive climbing resume includes numerous first or early ascents of Grade VI (multi-day) climbs rated between 5.12 and 5.13, often accomplished in all-female teams in some of the world’s most remote locations. Madaleine embraces each climb as an opportunity for adventure while striving to challenge herself and achieve peak performance. Her approach to climbing is dynamic, finding her unique balance of fun and accomplishment each day.

In addition to pursuing her personal climbing aspirations, she is dedicated to guiding and coaching climbers of various skill levels, helping them reach their own climbing milestones. Madaleine is a certified Rock Guide through the American Mountain Guides Association and primarily guides in Colorado and Red Rocks, Nevada, working with reputable organizations such as the Colorado Mountain School, Jackson Hole Mountain Guides, Red Rock Climbing Center, and the Women’s Wilderness Institute. Her commitment to the sport and passion for mentorship continues to inspire climbers everywhere.
