Steve Guttenberg

Steven Robert Guttenberg, born on August 24, 1958, is a multifaceted American actor, author, producer, businessman, and director, celebrated for his prominent roles in iconic films throughout the 1980s and 1990s. Notable works from his filmography include classics such as Cocoon, Police Academy, Three Men and a Baby, Three Men and a Little Lady, Diner, The Big Green, and Short Circuit.

Guttenberg's journey into acting began in high school, where he participated in a prestigious summer program at the Juilliard School under the guidance of acclaimed teacher John Houseman. After obtaining his high school diploma, he relocated to Los Angeles to follow his passion. He made his film debut in 1978 with The Boys from Brazil, but it was his standout performance in the 1980 comedy Diner that propelled him into the spotlight. Following that, he starred in a series of successful films that solidified his status as a leading man.

Although his career saw a slowdown in the 1990s, Guttenberg remained active in both film and television, appearing in projects like The Lost World: Jurassic Park, The Day After, and the series Ballers. Additionally, he has recurring roles in popular shows including Veronica Mars, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, and The Goldbergs.

Beyond acting, Guttenberg co-founded the production company Guttenflick Pictures and authored two books: The Guttenberg Bible and The Kids from DISCO. He has been married to WCBS-TV reporter Emily Smith since 2019, after dating since 2014.
