Shoba Narayan has rapidly risen to prominence as a talented actress, earning acclaim for her performances across film, television, and theater. Currently, she portrays the beloved character Princess Jasmine in the acclaimed Disney production of ALADDIN, which made its return to Broadway this fall. Narayan made her Broadway debut in 2016 alongside Josh Groban in the critically acclaimed musical NATASHA, PIERRE AND THE GREAT COMET OF 1812. This milestone marked her as the first South Asian woman to take on a principal role on Broadway since BOMBAY DREAMS, an achievement that Playbill recognized as a significant moment in theater history.

Her impressive stage repertoire includes a standout performance as Eliza Hamilton in the national tour of the groundbreaking musical HAMILTON by Lin-Manuel Miranda, as well as her recent role as Nessarose in the 2020 Broadway revival of WICKED. In addition to her theatrical accomplishments, Narayan has appeared in various film and television projects, including the award-winning independent film GROWING UP SMITH, the hit series QUANTICO, and Netflix’s COIN HEIST. She has also lent her talent to HALAL IN THE FAMILY and MISTRESS AMERICA, directed by Noah Baumbach.

Beyond acting, Narayan is a skilled Bharatanatyam dancer and educator, having performed widely in both the United States and India, and has garnered accolades at numerous international dance competitions. She currently resides in New York.
