Harry Benham (February 26, 1884 – July 17, 1969) was a notable American actor of the silent film era. He was born in Valparaiso, Indiana, but later moved to Chicago with his family, where he grew up and completed his education. Benham discovered his love for performance early on, showcasing his vocal talents as a member of his church choir.

His career began to flourish in 1904 when he joined the chorus of the Chicago production *Peggy From Paris*. At just 20 years old, he quickly ascended to the leading role, cementing his position in the production for its entire three-year duration. This success opened doors for him, leading to roles in a variety of theatrical works, including *The Sultan of Sulu*, *Woodland*, *Marrying Mary*, *The Gay Musician*, *H.M.S. Pinafore*, *Florodora*, *The Mayoress*, and *Madame Sherry*.

In 1910, Benham transitioned to film, joining the Thanhouser Company in New Rochelle, New York, where he starred in numerous films until 1915. His personal life included a marriage to actress Ethyle Cooke, with whom he had two children, Dorothy and Leland, both of whom would also contribute to the Thanhouser legacy.

Benham passed away on July 17, 1969, in Sarasota, Florida, leaving behind a rich legacy in the world of silent cinema. He was 85 years old at the time of his death.
