Jacqueline Pereda
Jacqueline Pereda is a dynamic writer, producer, and comedian dedicated to crafting humor that reflects cultural themes and the universal quest for identity. She recently took the helm as writer, director, and producer of her half-hour comedic pilot, *Generation Por qué?*, which features Andrea Burns (known for *Westside Story* and *In the Heights*). This project gained notable recognition, being a finalist at the 2017 Sundance New Voices Lab and earning spots in prestigious festivals such as SeriesFest, the Women In Comedy Festival, and the LA Comedy Festival.
In addition to her pilot, Jacqueline's full-length play, *A Visitor's Pass on the Virgin Mary*, received the 2019 Residency at New York's Governor Island Arts Center, awarded by the Hypokrit Theater Company. Her comedic work has been featured on platforms such as TruTV, Funny or Die, Mas Mejor, WhoHaha, and Brown Girl Magazine, and she has showcased her talents at the Brooklyn Comedy Festival. Furthermore, she created and directed *The Ethnically Ambiguous News Hour*, a satirical news series that aired on her YouTube channel for a season. Over her career, Jacqueline has produced more than 20 comedic shorts and musical parodies, and she is an alumna of the UCB sketch program.
As the daughter of Cuban immigrants, Jacqueline often finds herself clarifying modern concepts to her parents, like the pronunciation of "Uber." In addition to her creative endeavors, she proudly teaches Zumba and finds joy in choreographing routines for every song she encounters.
