Mary Louise Weller
Mary Louise Weller, a captivating blonde actress, was born on September 1, 1946, in Los Angeles. Initially a prominent model in New York, she made her film debut with a small, uncredited role in the gritty cop drama Serpico (1973). Weller gained notable recognition for her portrayal of a stunning marine biologist in the 1978 television movie Hunters of the Reef. Her performance as Mandy Pepperidge, the snobbish sorority girl in the cult classic comedy Animal House (1978), solidified her status in the film industry.
Following her success in Animal House, Weller took on various roles, including the non-suicidal lead in The Bell Jar (1979) and a wife in the cheesy thriller Blood Tide (1982). She also appeared as Chuck Norris's girlfriend in the martial arts flick Forced Vengeance (1982) and had a comedic role in Larry Cohen's monster film Q (1982). Over the years, she made guest appearances on several popular TV shows, such as Quincy M.E., Fantasy Island, and CHiPs.
In the early 1980s, Weller stepped away from on-screen acting, focusing instead on theater in New York and penning her own play, Four Alone, which was staged at Pasadena's Greenhouse Theater. An accomplished equestrian, she trained with the U.S. Equestrian Team in her youth and later purchased a three-acre ranch in Malibu to raise horses. Mary is also a first cousin of writer Sheila Weller.
