Jack Alvin "Alvy" Moore (December 5, 1921 – May 4, 1997) was a prominent American comic actor celebrated for his memorable portrayal of the absent-minded county agricultural agent Hank Kimball on CBS's beloved series *Green Acres*. His character was known for his humorous contradictions, often starting a statement only to immediately contradict himself, much to the exasperation of Oliver Wendell Douglas, played by Eddie Albert. A classic line showcases this quirk: "Good morning, Mr. Douglas! Well, it's not a good morning ... but it's not a bad morning either!"

Moore's acting journey began at the Pasadena Playhouse, where he honed his craft before stepping onto Broadway, succeeding David Wayne in the role of Ensign Pulver in *Mister Roberts*, alongside Henry Fonda. His film debut came in 1952 with a role as a quartermaster in *Okinawa*. He was featured in numerous films and television shows throughout the 1950s and 1960s, including *My Little Margie*, *The Mickey Mouse Club*, and a role in Marlon Brando's *The Wild One* (1953). Moore also starred in *Susan Slept Here* (1954) and *5 Against the House* (1955).

In the 1960s, he took on notable roles in series like *Pete and Gladys* and *Death Valley Days*. He made guest appearances on classics such as *Perry Mason*, *The Dick Van Dyke Show*, and *The Andy Griffith Show*. Later in his career, Moore ventured into cult horror films during the 1980s, appearing in titles like *Scream* (1981) and *Intruder* (1989). His versatility as an actor, producer, and uncredited scriptwriter for *A Boy and His Dog* highlighted his diverse talents in the entertainment industry.
