Shelton James Benjamin is a prominent American professional wrestler and former amateur athlete, widely recognized for his impactful career in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). Born on July 9, 1975, Benjamin's wrestling journey began in high school and continued at the University of Minnesota, where he honed his skills in amateur wrestling. His dedication to the sport also led him to serve as an assistant coach in amateur wrestling.

Before making his mark in WWE, Benjamin competed in Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW), where he captured the Southern Tag Team Championship on four occasions.
