**Jamie Alvey: A Journey Through Horror and Self-Discovery**

Jamie Alvey, an emerging voice in the world of horror, has always been drawn to the macabre. Growing up in a household enriched by her mother’s love for scary tales and her father’s passion for film, Alvey developed an early fascination with storytelling. However, her formative years were marred by bullying, leading her to seek solace in literature and cinema, where she began crafting her own narratives, albeit early attempts mimicked the likes of Twilight.

Her academic path took her to Brescia University, where she graduated summa cum laude with a degree in English and theatre. This achievement was followed by a Master’s in English literature from Mercy College, during which she began exploring horror through a feminist lens, delving into its psychological and literary implications.

In 2017, Alvey completed the first draft of her feature screenplay, *Bystanders*, a unique feminist perspective on exploitation horror. The project, deeply rooted in her experiences with PTSD and her views on toxic masculinity, gained traction and was greenlit by Epic Pictures in January 2023.

Alvey is also noted for her award-winning screenplay *Housewife*, which creatively blends genres reminiscent of Shirley Jackson and George A. Romero. Other notable works include *The Second Circle*, *Trad*, and *Boy Sober*. Currently, she is developing a feature adaptation of *Your Husband Was a Good Man* and a sequel to *Bystanders*.

Outside her writing endeavors, Alvey enjoys the company of her dogs and friends, often lost in contemplation. With numerous projects in the pipeline, her future remains as intriguing as her narratives. For a comprehensive list of her works, visit her website.
