Shamna Kasim, popularly recognized by her stage name Poorna, is an accomplished Indian actress and model. Her journey in the entertainment industry began with her foundation in classical dance, which paved the way for her entry into media through her participation in the reality dance competition, Super Dancer, aired on Amrita TV.

Poorna made her cinematic debut in the Malayalam film Manju Poloru Penkutty in 2004, where she initially took on minor supporting roles in several films that did not achieve commercial success. However, her career took a significant turn when she landed a pivotal role in her first Telugu film, Sri Mahalakshmi. This breakthrough was followed by her performance as the lead female character in her debut Tamil film, Muniyandi Vilangial Moonramandu, which further showcased her acting prowess.
