Ian Jones-Quartey
Ian Jones-Quartey has made significant contributions to the world of animation and webcomics. He is best known for creating the award-winning webcomic RPG World, which garnered multiple Web Cartoonists' Choice Awards. As a founding member of the now-defunct collective "bagofchips," alongside talents like Aaron Farber and Meredith Gran, he helped shape the landscape of web cartooning.
In addition to his webcomics work, Jones-Quartey co-created the animated series and hip-hop duo nockFORCE, where he performs under the name 'effnocka' alongside audio engineer Jim Gisriel. His career in animation began with a role on The Venture Bros., and he went on to work as a storyboard supervisor and revisionist for the beloved series Adventure Time. He also served as a storyboard artist for Secret Mountain Fort Awesome and lent his voice to Wallow in Bravest Warriors.
Perhaps one of his most notable achievements came in 2013 when his short film Lakewood Plaza Turbo aired on Cartoon Network as part of the shorts development program. This project evolved into a mobile game, OK K.O.! Lakewood Plaza Turbo, released in February 2016. The success of the pilot led to the greenlighting of the series OK K.O.! Let's Be Heroes, which premiered on August 1, 2017, further solidifying his impact on contemporary animation.
