Dave Payton's journey in the performing arts began in his childhood, growing up in Brooklyn, New York. He pursued a Bachelor’s degree in English and soon embarked on a nationwide tour with Covenant Players, a professional Christian theater group. During this tour, he showcased his talents in a variety of venues, including churches, schools, prisons, and nursing homes across the United States. Upon returning to Brooklyn, he embraced a unique role as Pee Wee the Seagull, a mascot for the Brooklyn Cyclones, the single-A affiliate of the New York Mets.

His personal life took a new turn when he met his future wife through an online dating platform, leading him to relocate to Wisconsin. There, he established the Least of These Players (LOTP), which has made notable strides in the theatrical community. The company premiered "The Man in The Empty Chair," both as a stage play and a film, alongside another production titled "The Gift." This inaugural performance aimed to expand their audience reach.

In addition to his directorial and production work, Dave is a prolific playwright, primarily focusing on faith-oriented themes. His extensive stage experience includes memorable roles such as Harold Hill in "The Music Man," Mr. Tumnus in "The Chronicles of Narnia," Mike Teevee in "Willy Wonka," Lumiere in "Beauty and the Beast," and Juror 2 in "12 Angry Men." Through his artistic endeavors, Payton continues to inspire and entertain audiences.
