Lucy Gutteridge
Lucy Karima Gutteridge, born on November 28, 1956, is a distinguished English actress known for her compelling performances on both television and in film. Hailing from London, she is the firstborn daughter of Bernard Hugh Gutteridge and Nabila Farah Karima Halim, the latter being a descendant of Prince Muhammad Said Bey Halim of Egypt and his British wife, Nabila Malika. With this lineage, Gutteridge is a great-great-great-granddaughter of Muhammad Ali of Egypt, positioning her as a distant relative of Egypt's last monarch, King Farouk.
Gutteridge's career received significant recognition when she was nominated for a Golden Globe Award in 1982 for her role in the miniseries "Little Gloria... Happy at Last," where she portrayed Gloria Morgan Vanderbilt, the mother of the iconic artist Gloria Vanderbilt. Her filmography also includes notable appearances in the cult classic "Top Secret!" and the romantic drama "Till We Meet Again," adapted from Judith Krantz's work.
Having retired from acting, Gutteridge now resides in Westbourne following her divorce from actor Andrew Hawkins. She is the proud mother of Alice Isabella Valentine Hawkins, born in 1979. Gutteridge's contributions to the entertainment industry continue to be remembered as she steps back from the spotlight.
