Ragne Veensalu
Ragne Veensalu (November 18, 1986 – October 27, 2024) was a renowned Estonian actress celebrated for her work in theater, film, and television. Born to Kaido and Siiri Veensalu, she grew up alongside her sister in Estonia. Veensalu honed her craft at the University of Tartu Viljandi Culture Academy, earning her degree in acting in 2011.
Her theatrical career flourished at the Von Krahl Theatre in Tallinn, where she joined the company in 2012. Veensalu's performances included memorable roles in classic works by luminaries such as Shakespeare, Dostoyevsky, Ibsen, García Lorca, and Kane, showcasing her versatility and depth as an actress.
Veensalu made her cinematic debut in 2007, portraying Ann in Rainer Sarnet's poignant drama *Kuhu põgenevad hinged* (English title: *Where Souls Go*), which delves into the emotional struggles of a family facing a health crisis. She further gained acclaim for her role as Aglaja in Sarnet's 2011 adaptation of Dostoyevsky's *The Idiot*. In 2012, she showcased her comedic talent in the film *Umbkotid*, directed by Rain Tolk and Andres Maimik.
From 2015 to 2020, Veensalu captivated audiences as Luna Haab in the popular comedy-crime series *Kättemaksukontor* on TV3. Her contributions to the arts have left an indelible mark on Estonian culture, and her legacy continues to inspire future generations of performers.
