Saskia-Sophie Rosendahl, born on July 9, 1993, is a prominent German actress celebrated for her powerful performances in film and theater. She gained significant recognition for her role in the critically acclaimed 2012 film Lore, directed by Cate Shortland, where her portrayal earned her the AACTA Award for Best Young Actor.

Rosendahl's artistic journey began early; she was a member of the children's ballet at the Halle Opera from 2001 to 2011, during which she participated in various theatrical productions. Transitioning to acting, she took part in improvisational theater with the group "Kaltstart" and the New Theatre Halle from 2008 to 2011. Her film career commenced in 2010 with Wolfgang Dinslage's Für Elise. However, it was her leading role in Lore that truly marked her as a rising star, winning the audience award at the Locarno Film Festival and serving as Australia’s entry for the 2013 Academy Awards in the Best Foreign Language Film category. Critics noted her impressive depth and maturity, with Variety highlighting her as an "exciting new talent."

In 2012, after completing her studies, she appeared in Vivian Naefe's adaptation of the bestseller The Taste of Apple Seeds and starred in A Pact, directed by Denis Dercourt. Recognized as one of the ten European “Shooting Stars” at Berlinale 2013, she was also nominated for the New Faces Award for Best Young Actress. More recently, in 2020, Rosendahl portrayed Petra in Lindenberg! Do Your Thing, a character inspired by Udo Lindenberg's song "Mädchen aus Ostberlin."
