Joel Gilbert
Joel Gilbert, born on April 15, 1964, in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, is a multifaceted American filmmaker, writer, and musician. He is the founder of Highway 61 Entertainment, through which he has created a series of notable documentary films focusing on the life and music of Bob Dylan. His works include the acclaimed documentaries *Bob Dylan World Tour 1966*, *The Home Movies*, and *Bob Dylan 1975-1981: Rolling Thunder and The Gospel Years*. In these productions, Gilbert not only serves as the interviewer but also contributes musically to the soundtracks.
In 2007, he ventured into political documentary filmmaking with *Farewell Israel: Bush, Iran and the Revolt of Islam*, exploring the complex history of Islamic-Jewish relations spanning centuries. His 2009 work, *Bob Dylan Never Ending Tour Diaries: Drummer Winston Watson's Incredible Journey*, further showcases his deep connection with Dylan's legacy.
