Gérard Filipelli

Gérard Filippelli (December 14, 1942 – March 30, 2021) was a multifaceted French artist renowned for his contributions as an actor, composer, and singer. His musical journey began in 1964 when he purchased an amplifier from an American soldier in Châteauroux, a pivotal moment that led him to the stage.

Two years later, in 1966, Filippelli showcased his talent at the prestigious Cinéma REX, where he established a close friendship with fellow performers Jean Sarrus and Gérard Rinaldi. This collaboration was instrumental in the formation of the renowned comedy and music group Les Charlots, which became a significant part of French pop culture. Filippelli remained with Les Charlots until 1997, leaving behind a legacy of laughter and memorable performances.

Tragically, in 1970, he faced personal loss when his wife passed away in a car accident, a moment that profoundly impacted his life and career.

Filippelli’s dynamic presence in the entertainment industry was marked by his ability to blend music and comedy, captivating audiences throughout his career.
