Cara-Beth Burnside, often referred to as "CB," was born on July 23, 1971, in Orange, California. Renowned as one of the leading female skateboarders and snowboarders globally, she has made significant contributions to both sports. As the inaugural president of the Action Sports Alliance, Burnside has been a trailblazer for female athletes in action sports.

Beginning her skateboarding journey in the 1980s, Burnside competed in men's amateur events due to the absence of women's competitions. This challenging environment led her to embrace snowboarding, seeking new opportunities to showcase her skills. Over her illustrious career, she has clinched over 16 titles in prestigious events such as the X Games, All Girl Skate Jam, Vans Triple Crown, Slam City Jam, and Soul Bowl. In recognition of her outstanding performance, she was honored as the Female Vert Skater of the Year by World Cup Skating in 2004, and she has earned five medals at the Summer X Games.

A remarkable first for women in skateboarding, Burnside graced the cover of Thrasher Magazine in 1989, and in 1999, she became the first female athlete to have her own signature skate shoe. Her accolades continued with TransWorld Skateboarding naming her Female Vert Skater of the Year in 2004. In 2015, Burnside's impact on the sport was immortalized with her induction into the Skateboarding Hall of Fame.
