Flying Lotus

Steven Ellison, widely recognized by his stage name Flying Lotus or FlyLo, was born on October 7, 1983. He is a multifaceted American artist known for his work as a record producer, DJ, filmmaker, and rapper. Over his career, Flying Lotus has released seven albums that have garnered critical acclaim: *1983* (2006), *Los Angeles* (2008), *Cosmogramma* (2010), *Until the Quiet Comes* (2012), *You're Dead!* (2014), *Flamagra* (2019), and *Yasuke* (2021).

In addition to his music, he founded the influential record label Brainfeeder, which has become a platform for innovative artists in the electronic and hip-hop genres. Flying Lotus has also contributed to the soundscape of popular culture by producing bumper music for Adult Swim and releasing rap mixtapes like *Duality* (2012) under his Captain Murphy persona. His creative reach extends into the gaming world, where he curated and hosted the FlyLo FM radio station in *Grand Theft Auto V* (2013).
