Veronica De Laurentiis
Veronica De Laurentiis, born on January 13, 1950, is a talented Italian-American author and actress renowned for her impactful career and personal journey. She hails from a prominent family, being the daughter of actress Silvana Mangano and film producer Dino De Laurentiis, and the sister of producer Raffaella De Laurentiis. At just 18, Veronica made her acting debut in the film *Waterloo*, which featured notable stars like Rod Steiger and Christopher Plummer, a project produced by her father. However, she stepped back from acting after welcoming her daughter, Giada De Laurentiis, in 1970.
After relocating to the United States with her then-husband, Alex De Benedetti, and raising four children, Veronica faced the challenge of supporting her family following her divorce. She successfully ran a fashion design studio for 12 years, creating women's clothing under her own brand.
Later, she shifted her focus back to acting and enrolled in a rigorous two-year acting program. As a result, she emerged as a working actress and a bestselling author. Her memoir, *Rivoglio La Mia Vita* (Claim My Life), quickly gained popularity in Italy. In 2009, she published *Riprenditi La Tua Vita — Le otto chiavi di Veronica* (Take Back Your Life — Veronica's Eight Keys).
Veronica is also a dedicated advocate against domestic violence, founding the Associazione Veronica De Laurentiis. In 2008, she portrayed the "mater dolorosa" in the Italian production *D'Ambra Grigia E Canfora* and starred in *Pandemia*, released in 2012. Currently, she is developing two television projects in Italy, including a documentary and a one-woman show. She shares her life between homes in Los Angeles and Rome with her second husband, producer Ivan Kavalsky.
