Andrea Werhun
Andrea Werhun is a Toronto-based writer, performer, and producer recognized for her impactful storytelling and innovative projects. She gained significant attention as the co-author and creator of "Modern Whore: A Memoir" (2022, Strange Light/Penguin Random House Canada), a collaborative work with filmmaker Nicole Bazuin that is set to be adapted into a major motion picture featuring Andrea herself, with the project being executive produced by Sean Baker, the 2024 Palme D'Or winner.
In 2023, Andrea showcased her versatility by co-writing, producing, and starring in "Thriving: A Dissociated Reverie," a poignant short film that tells the story of Black non-binary former sex worker Kitoko Mai and their journey with dissociative identity disorder. The film had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival and was proudly recognized as one of TIFF Canada's Top Ten films for 2023.
