Pat Walshe
Patrick Walshe (July 26, 1900 – December 11, 1991) was an American actor known for his unique roles as a dwarf character and his talents as a circus performer. He gained significant recognition for his portrayal of Nikko, the leader of the Winged Monkeys, in the classic MGM production "The Wizard of Oz" released in 1939. Although his film career was limited, Walshe's primary focus lay in the realms of theater, vaudeville, and circus performances. Throughout his extensive career in vaudeville, he often teamed up with notable figures such as Lew Fields and Joe Cook, showcasing his ability to impersonate and embody various animals, which became a hallmark of his performances.
