Maria Vieira
Maria Vieira, a distinguished Portuguese actress, was born on March 2, 1957. She made her theatrical debut in 1981 at the now-defunct Teatro Adóque, performing in the play "Paga as Favas." Her remarkable portrayal earned her the Troféu Nova Gente for Best Revelation in Theatre, followed by the Imprensa Prize for Light Theatre the following year.
Vieira's television career began with her collaboration with Júlio Isidro on the show "Festa é Festa" and quickly expanded into a fruitful partnership with Herman José. She featured prominently in various programs, including "Hermanias" (1984), "Humor de Perdição" (1987), "Casino Royal" (1989), and "Crime na Pensão Estrelinha" (1990). Her work continued to flourish with appearances in "Herman SIC" (2000-2006), "Serafim Saudade - O Regresso do Herói" (2001), and "Hora H" (2007). Notably, she co-hosted "1, 2, 3" (1985) alongside Carlos Cruz and starred in productions like "Alentejo sem Lei" (1991) by João Canijo.
Throughout her illustrious career, Vieira has collaborated with various esteemed theatre directors, including Francisco Nicholson and Filipe La Féria. Alongside her husband, Fernando Rocha, she co-authored several travel books: "Viagens da Parrachita" (2004), "As Minhas Viagens" (2005), and "Às Voltas com o Mundo" (2006).
Her talents also crossed oceans as she performed in Brazil, portraying Aurora in the novela "Negócio da China," and her most recent role was Brites in "Aquele Beijo," also crafted by Miguel Falabella.
